Historical movements in visual art share many conceptual similarities with movements in music. No. 7 Colors on Sound. A Collage. is meant to read as the title of a modernist painting, particularly one belonging to a collection in which each work explores a specific element of art. Comprised of seven movements, each titled for and corresponding to one of the “7 Elements of Art,” Colors on Sound varies significantly in style, length, and character, forming a collage of the many colors and sounds of brass and percussion instruments.
