Joseph has conducted orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber ensembles across the United States and internationally. He has led performances of the Overture Chamber Orchestra at the 2026 YOLA National Festival, the Moravská filharmonie Olomouc in the Czech Republic, Sofia Philharmonic in Bulgaria, the Pride Bands Alliance national conference in Denver, the Pacific Artists Collective in Oregon, and the Newfound Chamber Winds in Virginia.

Joseph is the Artistic Director for the Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles and is a conductor for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s YOLA program. His conducting studies have included masterclasses with distinguished conductors and pedagogues including Don Schleicher, Diane Wittry, Anne Edwards, Eugene Corporon, Gary Hill, Frank Ticheli, Tomáš Netopil, and Simeon Pironkoff.

The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles

Since 2022, Joseph Vranas has served as Artistic Director for The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles, the second oldest LGBTQ+ community band in the world. With over 45 years of bringing together musicians to learn and perform in Concert, Marching, and Jazz bands, GFBLA continues to grow, sharing a mission of equality, inclusion, and love at various venues and events around Los Angeles.
